Kimberly Holmes Wiggins joined the tender club of widowhood in 2016.

She lost her soulmate at the age of 35 in 2016. Kimberly met Rasheed at Duke University. He was a senior and she was a freshman. The two dated for seven years (all long distance) and were married for nearly five years. They were equally yoked and truly bound together by God, however, that physical bond was broken in April 2016. That's when Kimberly’s beloved husband walked to the store to grab some snacks and never returned home. He was taken from her in a horrific hit and run incident. Police are still searching for two of the three drivers. She’s doing everything in her power to aid that search.

 

Professionally, Kimberly has a wealth of journalism experience. From reporting and anchoring to shooting, editing and producing, she’s done it all, and sometimes, all in the same day!

 

She’s currently a morning anchor at WBOC-TV on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia.

 

Prior to that position, she was responsible for covering health and education stories for the special projects department at WOFL-TV in Orlando. She also had general assignment reporting duties and helped manage the special projects department. Lastly, she often filled-in on the anchor desk for every newscast--- usually at a moment's notice. Her heartfelt coverage of an officer’s funeral earned her an award from the Associated Press.

 

Before landing in Central Florida, she was the weekend anchor & special projects reporter at WXIX-TV in Cincinnati and WBOC-TV in Salisbury, Md. Her career began behind the scenes as an associate producer in Miami and as a field producer at Bloomberg TV in their Washington, D.C. bureau.

She has also launched a faith-based, retail company with a wister (widow sister) called Still His for those who would like to share their love for the Lord and/or for a spouse (whether here on Earth or up above)! They recently formed a partnership with the popular group, The Dinner Party, to launch support-based gatherings that are full of good food, laughter, and understanding for widows navigating the waters of significant loss and grief.

Kimberly graduated from Duke University and Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.
