SABRA ROBINSON

Baltimore native, Charlotte, NC resident, and Morgan State University alumna, Sabra Robinson is the founder of Black Women Widows Empowered, a nonprofit organization that empowers widows through various online and face-to-face mediums. She’s also the author of Widowed, But Not Wounded, and publisher of Today's Widowed Woman of Color Magazine.

 

She was married for 23 years to Herbert, a former serviceman. Their union produced four children. Sadly, Herbert succumbed to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2012.

Sabra is also the author of two additional books, The Lost Sheep and Micky, Ticky, Boo!, Her additional achievements include being recognized by ABC Networks Talent Development for her proposal to bring her children's book to life as well as being featured in The New York Times.

Sabra' writings are featured on blavity.com, Hope for Widows FoundationFriendsPast, and Thought Catalog.

​

In her spare time, Sabra enjoys volunteering at her church, writing, reading, watching movies, tennis, learning to play her acoustic guitar, and Maryland crabcakes!
